Natural Remedies to Ban That Tan in This Scorching Sun

Indians naturally have a dusky complexion and unlike westerners would like to avoid sunbathing which can cause them more tan and sunburns. We Indians have a fetish for fair skin and to combat scorching sun in this tropical country dermatologists always advice to apply a sunscreen lotion with 30 SPF on our skins at least 20 minutes before we hit outside. Also keeping our hear, face and body covered, wearing sunglasses to protect our eyes and sipping of good amount of fluids will keep our body hydrated and skin well moisturized.

But if on one of the recent beach trip you have got your skin tanned and want to do away with it quickly in shortest possible time, here are some bans that tan tips at hand:

• The simplest way to get rid of tan is to exfoliate your skin using home made or one of the numerous scrubs available in the market depending on your skin type. Apply exfoliation gel or cream in gentle circular motions first clockwise and then anticlockwise and notice the difference as exfoliation helps in removing dead skin cells.

• If you want to use some granny’s recipe then scrub your body with a mixture of 2 tbsp gram flour, few drops of oil, ½ teaspoon turmeric and sufficient curd to make a paste. Alternatively you can also use an exfoliate scrub made of oatmeal that has been soaked in milk

• Another excellent home remedy that can help you bid adieu to tan is applying a mixture of honey and grated cucumber on the affected area. You can even apply a combination of equal quantity of lemon and cucumber juice for lightening the skin impacted by sun tan. Leave these mixtures for 10-15 minutes before washing your skin with cold water to notice a significant reduction in tanning.

• Rub your wet skin with some baking soda which is an excellent way to remove the tan. Many commonly available fruits and vegetable like tomatoes, potatoes and papaya are natural bleaching agents and hence applying a puree of these vegetables as a face mask and washing it off when it dries assists in reducing tanning.

• Tulsi or basil leaves is an herb known for its cooling properties and is extremely useful in treating tanned skin. Aloe Vera is another excellent herb whose extract is being used extensively by skin care experts world wide to improve the skin texture by not only reducing tanning but freeing it of acne and blemishes.

Last but not the least have a luxurious bath in lavender scented water and apply rose water on your body to feel fresh and also to reduce the tan.
